My daughter has a very sensitive scalp, and even when we use conditioner on her hair she still squirms and squeals when I try to brush her hair.  So we have opted to incorporate a detangler into our hair brushing routine.  But...that can get expensive to buy the name brand detanglers.  A while ago I determined to reduce our spending and find cheaper alternative by using ingredients on hand.  After much research and a combination of ideas found across the web, I now use the following combination of ingredients and refill the very first and only detangler spray bottle we bought about three years ago.

1 part conditioner
3 parts water
It is easier to fill the bottle 3/4 full with water and then add the conditioner to prevent any spill-over.  Shake to combine (which I do before each use).

Using coupons and pairing them with regular deals at drug store, you can often get free conditioners for this recipe.

I Corinthians 10:31- Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God. There is none that doeth good

Romans 3:12 They are all gone out of the way , they are together become unprofitable ; there is none that doeth good, no, not one . How many days do I feel that way as a stay at home mom?  Too many to count.  I'm sure there are others who can relate to this feeling of futuility while raising children for the Lord. But just as Romans continues to describe the hope possible for a person, what an encouragement that there is hope for our children as well. There is no hope for man in his natural condition, but Christ made the ultimate sacrifice to make a way for us to go to heaven.  He died for our sins and took our place of punishment; and when we accept that gift, we are made profitable to God and good in his sight again.  Becoming a parent and choosing to raise children for the Lord is a sacrifice.  A sacrifice of our time, treasure, and patience.  What makes a parent make that sacrifice?  LOVE!   Even when my kids are at their ...

OBEY RIGHT AWAY, THE RIGHT WAY

I’ve said that to my children many, many times; as a matter of fact, just this morning I said it to my oldest two. Only this time, I was convicted myself. How many times have I looked at the kitchen counter and thought, “I really need to do the dishes,” and yet they remain there, dirty, for a few more hours (or days). UGH! What a hypocrite I’ve been in front of my children. No, they didn’t hear anyone telling me to clean the house, or know that I refused to obey the prompting and try to rationalize my disobedience with things like the following: • I don’t feel good today; I’ll do it tomorrow when I’m feeling better. • I let it go too long already. I feel overwhelmed by it, and I just can’t handle that feeling right now. • Maybe if I leave it until after my husband gets home I can make him feel sorry enough to do it for me. • I don’t want to do it now, just because!
